re: i love coffee!
oy. i'm *exhausted* from bed at one am and getting up at 8 am, and i'm pretty sure the sleeping pill i took still hasn't worn off. BUT:
i FINALLY got our claims person on the phone this morning right after leaving a message saying that the next call i made would be to his superior. funny that. he told me to find a tree company and a contractor stat and get the house as secure as possible, and that my insurance would cover everything. i was too cracked out to get to anything else, so when j gets back from work, we have to call back with a list of questions from his parents.
$@lem tree and $tump's bucket truck is on my lawn. i have no more fence and only half a yard worth of flower beds left. i only asked that they allow me to dig up my grandma's tulip bulbs if they thought they'd be damaged beyond repair. so far so good, although the head guy was walking around ON THE ROOF near the point of impact and then later got his arm and hand stuck between the bucket and a very large tree limb. we ran over to check on him, and he's okay, thank god.
funny thing is, they expected that the tree would be about the size of the limbs. they didn't know they were getting a 100 yr old tree...i've heard a lot of whistling and sympathy noises from the tree people (as i've now taken to calling them). it's going to take them a while to get it all, and they're only going to the fence line. the nasty neighbor will have to deal with his own rootball and stump. ha.
the owner of the tree co. swears that the insurance company is going to have to tear down most of the house and rebuild due to structural damage in the ceilings, walls and floors. what could i do but ask what the chances were of someone putting in a pool?
what else? looking for a contractor that's bonded/insured to patch up the roof. oy. and i'm freezing to death. isn't it supposed to be spring?
yep, i think that's about it on our end. feel free to pass along to whomever, and i'll probably post this on the blog.
ps. i've had about 10 oz. of the new ginseng coffee extra energy blend from 7-11, and i have been typing faster than i have in my entire life. wheeeeeeeeeeee!
pss. thanks everyone for all the wonderful calls and emails and notes. how great it is to know we are so loved and cared for. *mwah*
